During the Semester 1 session 2013/2014, we take Testing and Assessment in Education and Instructional technology courses. Our lectured is guided by Dr. Joe as our lecturer. We do a lot of activities for the both courses.

We do a lot of assessments and questions throughout the Testing and Assessment in Education course. From this course, we get a lot of new knowledge and information. We were learned on how to measure, the type of assessments, how to interpret test scores, how to develop objectives, how to construct questions, how to analyze test and etc.

The main task given to us for this course is to do a mini test. For this project, we have to construct questions from the scratch and ask 20 students to answer it. From this, we can observed the student performance on the test and can analyzed it. The software we used to analyzed student performance is Excel and Ministep. The details about this project can be read from the Artifact section. The knowledge from this course is very useful for the future teacher.

For the Instructional Technology class, we do a lot of fun and exciting activities. We were introduced with a lot of new software and sites that we never heard before. Throughout this course, we had learned about Yola, Wordle, Sketchup, Wikipedia, Podbean, Sketchpad, Rubric and etc.

From Yola, we can create our own site. We were asked by Dr. Joe to create site for our Instructional Technology course. In Yola, we can change the layout, the font, the background and etc. according to our own like. It is so fun because we can decorate the site freely.

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that we provide. We can tweak our clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. Dr. Joe asked us to make a Wordle based on our personality and character. It were quite awkward, because we had to analyze our positive and negative characteristic by ourselves.

            SketchUp is great for design buildings. During the class we had been given a task by Dr. Joe to expand our creativity. We were divided into groups. Our group consist of 6 persons. Dr. Joe said, we can construct anything for the SketchUp according to our creativity. We choose to construct a shopping complex with unique design. It was truly an exciting experience for us.

For Wikipedia, we were asked us to give a contribution in Malay Wikipedia on our Mathematical knowledge. The topic that we chose were no-arbitrage principle in financial mathematics. In this task, we got a new experienced because we never expressed our knowledge in Malay language. To be true, it is quite funny.

While for Podbean, we were asked to record our own voice to be posted on the Podbean. Dr. Joe chose my ambition as the theme. We also had to include our future planning in the recording. To us, it is quite embarrassing because we never posted our own voice in the web before. But, somehow we were excited.

For Sketchpad, we were asked to create a piece of art according to our creativity. This activities was so relaxing. We can draw anything that we like using this online based software. In Rubric, we have to create the evaluation form for Yola. This site is very useful for the future teacher to create their evaluation form for anything.
